The Chintac Race

Post by Kritch Telsmas on Wed Oct 19, 2016 4:13 pm

The Great Insects

The Chintac come from a dark, jungle covered world. Their bodies are not unlike prehistoric centipedes from the Humans' Earth, however they have man-shaped heads and their first two limbs end in large scythes like those of a mantis. The second set of limbs have seven digits, including two opposable digits. The average Chintac can grow to be over fifty feet long and weigh over a ton. Their long bodies are covered in hard carapace that others on their home world find hard to grip or injure. Chintac grow continuously throughout their lives and are renown for their insatiable hunger. They are predators by nature, but can consume nearly anything smaller than themselves. And a great deal that are larger as well.

Chintac are capable of speech and higher thinking, however they communicate via a series of high pitch chirps and low chittering. Chintac as a species rarely communicate to one another, but when they do, they use head devices, adopted in Siltrine to become their Flintrers, that cover the back of the head and one eye with a glass-like lens.

Chintac who do group together can be very territorial, and are among the few reasons they'll attack their fellow Chintac. However, their are some Chintac who are cannibals and quite literally will eat anything. Chintac are rather simple as a Race, preferring to go off on their own to hunt and thrive in their jungle world. However, they can adapt quite easily to any environment.
